Sundays

Where we praise and worship God together as a church family.

Please see our Parish Newsletter for up to date information about services

9 am 'A gentle start to the day'

Communion, familiar words, well-known hymns and short to-the-point teaching usually finishing at about 9.50am.  Stay on for refreshments and a chat with others or head off to make the most of your Sunday!

10:30 am 'Relaxed and contemporary'

St Mark is a family church with active groups for all ages of children and young people during the 10:30 service. We arrange the children's groups by school years. Do click on the group relevant to you to find out the detail of all the activities provided. Children and young people start in church and then go out to their groups. Parents and carers are welcome to stay for as long as it takes for children to settle in before returning to the main church.

In the service there is usually a reading from the Bible, time for prayer and a talk for adults of all ages and stages which will be accessible and practical.  We enjoy music and song  too as a way of expressing our praise to God. Don’t worry if you don’t know the songs or don’t feel comfortable to join in - feel free to observe and reflect on what is happening.

On the first Sunday of the month the service is more informal and takes place in St Mark Hall. On the 3rd Sunday of the month we have Communion (bread and wine to remember Jesus died for us).

The service in church finishes at about 12 noon but continues with  tea & coffee in the church hall and an opportunity to meet some of us.  Most people tend to wear casual clothes, but if you feel like dressing up a bit, well, why not?

3:30 pm Messy Church

On the first Sunday of the month only.

6:30 pm 'A chance to reflect and wind down as the day ends'

Evening Praise is on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays in the month and is a classic mix of music, liturgy, Bible readings and preaching. This is a good way to prepare for the challenges of a new week. Holy Communion is on the 4th Sunday of the month.
