CHURCH WEEKEND AWAY

We have booked a weekend away at the Pioneer Centre near Kidderminster and hope that most church members will be able to come.
The centre which can sleep up to 300 people is only an hour away and offers modern comfortable accommodation. Paul Harris spoke on a weekend there earlier this year and can vouch for the superb standard of catering!
The weekend programme will have something for all ages and will make full use of the comfortable lounges and outdoor pursuits and sports facilities.
The organising group is representative of our whole church. Group members are: Vicki Rowlands, Dave Prowse, Kate Prowse, Maysie Horne, Nev Hills, Beryl Hills, Sheena Boreham and Alice Gould. They will be delighted to answer your questions about the weekend. They are looking forward to planning a weekend which will cater for the rich mix of ages and backgrounds that we have in our church family.

Speakers booked!
We have been fortunate to secure Nick and Linda Baines as our speakers for our weekend away. Many St Mark women will remember Linda from when she came to speak at a Women’s Breakfast in 2007. She is a health visitor and artist working with glass through a number of community art projects. Nick is the Bishop of Croydon and is a popular speaker at events such as Greenbelt. He is the author of several books exploring faith and spirituality in a down to earth way. Listeners to Radio 2’s Terry Wogan show will recognize Nick as a regular contributor to Pause for Thought.
Linda and Nick are no strangers to Cheltenham. They lived here when first married and were part of a youth group leadership team with our own Paul and Cathy Harris. Linda worked in the community and Nick was a linguist at GCHQ when he felt called to ordination.
