Purpose

To praise and worship God together as a church family.

When and Where

The morning service at 9.00am and 10.30am and the evening service at 6.30pm are all in the church except the evening service on the 1st Sunday of the month which is held at St Aidan, Coronation Square - doors open at 6.15pm.

What Happens

9am “A gentle start to the day”

Communion, familiar words, well-known hymns and short to-the-point teaching usually finishing at about 9.50am.  Stay on for refreshments and a chat with others or head off to make the most of your Sunday!

Sundays at 10.30am “Relaxed and contemporary”

We enjoy music and song as a way of expressing our praise to God. Don’t worry if you don’t know the songs or don’t feel comfortable to join in - feel free to observe and reflect on what is happening.

Children and young people start in church and then go out to their special groups. There is a crèche for the youngest children and groups for infant, junior and senior school ages.  Parents and carers are welcome to stay for as long as it takes for children to settle in before returning to the main church.  We have a number of all-age services throughout the year and these are advertised in advance.

There is usually a reading from the Bible, time for prayer and a talk for adults of all ages and stages which will be accessible and practical.  On the 3rd Sunday of the month we have Communion (bread and wine to remember Jesus died for us).

The service finishes at about 12 noon but please stay on for tea & coffee in the hall and an opportunity to meet some of us.  Most people tend to wear casual clothes, but if you feel like dressing up a bit, well, why not?

Sundays at 6.30pm “A chance to reflect and wind down as the day ends”

A classic mix of music, liturgy, Bible readings and preaching. This is a good way to prepare for the challenges of a new week.

On the 1st Sunday of the month at 6.15pm we have an informal ‘café style’ gathering, called Dwell, together with other churches in our area at St Aidan, Coronation Square.

On the 4th Sunday of the month we have Communion.
