About the New Life Band

The New Life Band (Ondo, James, James, Abednigo, Gideon, Deo and Eglah) is an indigenous outreach ministry to the Youth and Students of Tanzania, East Africa. Over the past 25 years, the New Life Band, Mission to Youth and Students, has developed an active and vibrant ministry, primarily to teenagers, through school visitations, national youth camps and conferences, outdoor Christian rallies, concerts and performances, and one-on-one counselling and guidance. Through their music, the band reaches around 600,000 young people every year and over 1,000 students attend one of their two summer camps.

Kristina Horne's parents started the work with the Band and St Mark/Emmanuel has been connected with the work for over 15 years.

Secondary School and Youth Vocational Training Centre

In 2004, the New Life Band started to build a secondary school and vocational training centre on a site they had owned for many years near Arusha, Northern Tanzania. There is great need for such educational facilities in Tanzania, where a very large number (approximately 70%) of young people are not able to continue their education due to lack of facilities and ongoing opportunity. The school has now partially opened, and several of the students are sponsored by members of St Mark for their education.
