MISSIONS TO ISRAEL

The Church's Ministry among Jewish
people (CMJ)
St Mark has had strong links with Missions to Israel since before the 1950s. CMJ's history goes back to the early 19th
century when a group of leading
Christians, including men such as Lord
Shaftesbury, William Wilberforce and Charles Simeon, began to have a concern for Jewish people. Who was
taking the Gospel to them? Who was speaking up for their rights and concerns?
The Church's Ministry among Jewish people
is a family and a team of believers, both Jewish and non-Jewish, whose aim is
to support and encourage Christians and Jews alike in the area of Messianic
faith through:
- Evangelism
- Encouragement
- Education
CMJ is one of the longest serving evangelical societies associated with the Anglican Church and a pioneer in modern ministry among Jewish people. CMJ works in Israel, the U.K., Ireland, USA, Australia, Ukraine and Argentina.

Prayer Needs
- That all Jewish people will
have the opportunity to hear the gospel
- For political stability to be
restored in the Middle East and for
progress in peace talks
- For all those working amongst
Jewish people that they would build culturally-sensitive relationships
with Jewish people based on respect, understanding and love.
- That these organisations would encourage reconciliation between Christians and Jews and between Israelis and Palestinians.
