Family Space
About Family Space
Family Space has been working in Hesters Way since September 1995. It is a joint venture between Hesters Way Baptist Church, the West Cheltenham Churches and Cheltenham YMCA. It offers prayer, volunteers, donations and activities to children and their families within Hesters way, Rowanfield and St Mark.
The project works in our local community to:
- Develop people's appreciation of themselves and their families
- Encourage family relationships
- Encourage an on-going sense of hope that makes a difference
- Provide spaces where children and parents can feel safe
- Encourage people to do their own business with God
Family Space Offers:
Stay and Play groups for parents and 0-3s- Time out for Mums with a crèche for the 0-3s
- Befrienders - friends to help with the
children, the shopping or just to listen
- Cheltenham Child Contact Centre -a place for children and parents to meet up
when the family unit has been separated.
- School Holiday
Activities - including
family days out in the summer.
- Books, Story-sacks and Toy Libraries
Altogether, Family Space works with over 100 families in our parish.

Prayer Needs
- Cheltenham Child Contact Centre - offering supported contact every Saturday afternoon
- Supervised contact - for renewed one-to-one contact between children and parents
- Stay and Play - for mums, dads and toddlers on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Befrienders, offering support to local families - that good relationships will be forged which will bring restoration and refreshment to families in difficult circumstances
- Time out for Mums - that mums will benefit from getting together and enjoying being a person as well as a parent
- School holiday activities - for fun and safety for children and helpers
- That Family Space will "be Jesus" to families in our community
