When and Where
We meet on all except the 3rd Monday evenings 7.15-8.45 in the bell tower for practice. Visitors always welcome, come up & meet us.We ring for services on:
2nd & 4th Sundays from 9.45-10.20am and
3rd Sundays from 5.45-6.25pm
What Happens
We meet for practice every fortnight and under the direction of the Tower Captain, we train new ringers and practice our technique and "methods" ready for performance for events. We ring the Bells in the English change ringing style. This means that with the aid of a rope and wheel we swing the bellsthrough 360 degrees and ring changes (not tunes) On a Sunday or for other events we ring special set pieces and enjoy making the loudest call to worship there is! St Mark ringers are affiliated to several national societies and regularly take part in other ringing on a local and national level.
The bells have recently been overhauled and St Mark now has a newly restored ring of 8 bells with a Tenor weighing just over 16cwt.
